When the research paper was first assigned, I was freaked out a little bit. I have never been one who really liked English class, so writing has never really been my thing. But for this paper, I felt confident writing it. We have done so much prep work for the paper, and I was ready to sit down and write it. But sadly, I was wrong. Everything I wrote did not make sense. I found myself staring at a blank screen for longer than I’d like to admit. I did not like some of my sources anymore, so I had to go back to the drawing board and search for more. After hours of finding sources that support my view of my paper, I finally got a grip of my paper and started writing. Since English is a once a week class it is very easy to forget about the paper, especially with a heavy load of 6 classes this semester. Needless to say I will be very happy when this roller coaster of a paper is finished!

During this process of the research paper, I have found there to be many ups and down. The research process of this research paper was a bit overwhelming. There were so many data bases to choose from, then once you typed in a topic almost 6,000 results showed up!  It was challenging to find ones that went along with your topic, and then when they did not work it was frustrating. Once I did my annotated bibliography, I found the research paper process to be a little bit easier. It was very helpful to summarize the articles chosen for this paper. It made everything very organized as well, which will help in the long run of things. Doing the proposal was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Once I sat down and started writing it, everything started to fit into place. I feel confident in doing notecards and look forward to getting this research paper finished!

In Torie Bosch's article “First, Eat All the Lawyers”, she discusses the zombie craze. Bosch goes on saying that zombies are our guilty pleasures. Bosch uses the zombie craze as a metaphor of our economic state. As an example the Television show, “The Walking Dead”, is used to prove her point. Bosch says that the longest survivors are of those of the blue-collar, and the white-collar are the ones who typically die. This is due to the fact that the white-collar persons do not have the necessary skills to survive. On the other hand the blue-collar who are the auto maintenance, farmers, plumber, and electrical work people they have the skills that would help them survive during an zombie apocalypse. With the zombie craze upon us if our economy did recover, Bosch says that zombies would no longer be the biggest craze.

The most played songs on my iPod would have to be those of Luke Bryan. I can listen to his songs any day and all day! I can honestly say that he is my favorite country singer. When his new album, “Crash My Party” came out, I of course rushed out to the store to buy it. After a month of blasting his new album out the speakers of my car, Luke released his music video for “That's My Kind of Night”. This is one of the best songs on that album. I was so excited to watch his music video. Luke has always been the kind of guy to really hit the mark with his videos, but not this one. Even though I love Luke Bryan, I do not like his music video for “That's My Kind of Night”.

The song “That's My Kind of Night” displays a country boy, having a good country time. That is what Luke's songs are all about. The start of the video is Luke shooting a flaming bow and arrow into a pile of sticks to start a bonfire. I must admit it is pretty cool, and it lead me to believe that there was a lot more to come in the video. There's not.

The video then goes on to Luke starting to sing in the back of his “big, black, jacked up truck”. While Luke is singing, there is a bonfire that is going on. Everyone is dancing, drinking, and having a good ol' country time. During the video you see Luke singing and dancing in the bed of his truck. You also see him  “Floatin’ down the Flint River", to "catch us up a little catfish dinner”.
There are lyrics in the song that he displays in the video, and I find them to be very pleasing. I think the main reason that I did not like this video was because of the transitions.  He has a split screen the whole entire video. I honestly did not know where to look. I felt like my eyes were going all over the place just watching it.

Some people say that this music video shows how creative Luke Bryan really is, and I would still have to disagree with them on that. There is so much jam packed into this video I think some of it did not need to be there. I of course cannot speak for him, but I can only assume that Zac Brown, from the Zac Brown Band, would agree with me. In a recent interview, Zac states that he loves Luke, “but this new song is the worst song I’ve ever heard”. Although I love the song, and think that it is one of the best songs of the summer, I would think that Zac Brown and I would agree that the music video just does not hit the mark. I am sad to say that I would give this video a thumbs down. Even though I love Luke Bryan and all of his songs, I think that this music video has too much in it, and does not go along with the fantastic song that he has written.

In “Homeless on Campus”, Eleanor J. Bader discusses the effects of being homeless, and the toll poverty takes on someone's education. Bader tells about stories of students who were abused as a child, or kicked out of their homes. Bader uses several students to describe the toll homelessness takes on a student. In extreme cases, some students slept in a teacher's office. One even lived there for awhile. Students snuck into the school to use the bathrooms, and to shower. Bader believes that every child should have an education, even if they cannot afford one due to poverty.  If I were homeless, I would really appreciate all the programs available for someone who is homeless. Bader explains how only forty four students get grants for their schooling. Which in my opinion is a shockingly low number.  Bader definitely believes that education is very important, and everyone should be able to obtain an education.

This is the best playlist because you can use it for anything. You can listen to it in the car, or while cleaning your room, or even just hanging out with friends. These 13 songs are some of my favorites. Luke Bryan is good for any occasion, and his song "That's My Kind of Night" has a really good beat to it. It's not your typical country song! Jason Aldean is another aritst who doesn't always play to the typical country standards. His song " Dirt Road Anthem" has some rap elements in it. Anyone will love his song.  His other songs in this playlist are really good songs too. Florida Gerogia Line are newer to the country scene. Your typical country boys sing about bailing hay and having fun. "It'z Just What We Do" is one of the best songs on their album.  My favorite song on the radio right now is Chris Young's "Aw Naw".I really like the beat to this song, and it is good for any occasion. Thomas Rhett, and Tyler Farr are also new to the country world. Their songs are more of a softer tone, but they are still really good songs. Hope you enjoy!

I have always been the kind of person who loved painting their nails. I love having some color on them. Every time I paint my nails, it always feels like they take forever to dry, or they chip the next day. And the amount of coats it takes to get a smooth finish can be up to 3 coats! The three main brands that I have found to work well are Jordana, O.P.I., and Essie. But which one is really the best? Lets look at some criteria. If we compare the drying time, the smoothness, how long it lasts before chipping, and the price of all these three products, we can determine which product works the best.

Jordana
Color: Love Bug

The brand Jordana costs about $1.99 at most department stores. That price bought me a 15ML bottle of  nail polish. When I painted my nails, I found the drying time to be about five minutes for one coat. The nail polish went on smoothly, but I found myself needing 3 coats for a finish I liked. After the painting process, it's time to see how long they'll last with out chipping. It took about three days before my nails started to chip using the Jordana brand nail polish.
Nicole by O.P.I.
Color: Change the World

O.P.I. Brand nail polish, is a very well known brand.  When shopping at Target, I purchased at 15ML bottle of nail polish for $7.04. I have used this brand many times before and the chip time averages about a little over a week. The nail polish went on very smoothly, and took about four minutes to dry for one coat. I used only 2 coats for this nail polish.
Essie
Color: Boxer Shorts

Essie brand of nail polish is my favorite brand of nail polish to use. While shopping at Target, I found the 13.5ML bottle of nail polish to be $7.79. This is a little on the more expensive side of nail polish. Like O.P.I., Essie lasts for a week, and for one coat I found the drying time to be over six minutes. This brand of nail polish goes on very smoothly, even though I still used two coats for the desired look I was going for.
The Results
Cost: Nail polishes can range from a variety of prices. While doing my shopping at Target, I found Jordana to be the cheapest brand at $1.99.  The brand that was in the middle of the three brands I purchased, was O.P.I. costing me $7.04. The most expensive brand was Essie, costing me $7.79.

Smoothness: When starting my comparisons, I expected O.P.I. to be the most smooth based on how well known it is.But I found Essie to be the smoothest.  O.P.I. was second when it came to smoothness. Even though I had put two coats on of each brand, I found Essie to be more smooth than O.P.I. The last, but not least brand was Jordana. Yes it was smooth, but I had to put three coats on for a completely smooth finish.

Chip Rate: O.P.I. and Essie had almost the same results in this criteria, but in the end O.P.I. came out on top as the winner since it took longer than a week to chip.  Essie was a very close second, taking a week to chip. And coming in at the tail end was Jordana taking three days to chip.

Dry Time: The brand that had the least amount of drying time was O.P.I. with four minutes. Where as the brand Jordana took five minutes to completely dry one coat. And the brand Essie took over six minutes to dry just that one coat.
So, Which is Really the Best?
After finding which brand was the best in all of the areas I was looking for in a nail polish, I can now figure out which is the best to buy.  Even though Jordana had the least amount of cost and an okay drying time, it took longer than the other nail polishes since it took more coats. I would say that Jordana is not the best brand to buy.  Essie went on so smoothly and only took two coats of polish. But with a drying time of over six minutes and costing almost $8 for the smallest bottle, I would say that Essie is not the brand to buy. O.P.I. although costing a little over $7, is the best brand to buy. O.P.I does not chip as fast as the other brands, and it had the shortest drying time. O.P.I was not the smoothest brand, but it was still plenty smooth, and that was proven with only needing two coats for a smooth finish.
